After Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho, who was the club's manager, "parted company by mutual consent," fans across the world took to social media to express themselves and pay respects to the man’s career.

And some fans actually did it in a rather hilarious fashion.

Here some of the stuff Twitter, Facebook and Instagram users everywhere posted after hearing the news:

Many were sad, albeit, in a witty way:

There were loads of speculations about career opportunities:

Others got a lot gloaty:

I can imagine Eva Carneiro dedicating 'Rolling in the Deep' to Jose Mourinho! Never ever scorn a woman! Jose learns about 'karma' the hard way! #MourinhoSacked

And some just saw the silver lining:

Despite sort of blaming the disaster that the last season was for Chelsea on Mourinho, the club called the manager who won three league titles, FA Cup, Community Shield and three League Cups over two spells, the most successful one in the 110-year history of Chelsea who "will always be warmly welcomed back to Stamford Bridge."
