Putin, Elton John Ready to Meet As Soon As Their Busy Schedules Allow It

Russian President Vladimir Putin and British singer and composer Elton John are both ready to hold a meeting when their busy schedules allow it, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian presidential spokesman announced Thursday that Putin had called Elton John and suggested they hold a meeting to discuss current issues.

"Elton John has a busy schedule as well, Putin decided to give him a call several days ago, but they were not able to hold a phone talk because Elton John was somewhere in Brazil and so on, he is rather active and doesn't stay in one place either, he travels a lot," Peskov told reporters.

"So they agreed that if their schedules intersect, such a meeting can take place, at least, both have shown will and readiness," he added.

Earlier this month, two amous Russian pranksters claimed earlier this month to have made a prank call to Sir Elton John in which they pretended to be Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Following the prank call, Sir Elton posted a message on Instagram thanking the Russian president for ‘reaching out’ to him during the call and said he looked forward to a face-to-face meeting with him. However, after it became clear that the phone conversation with the Russian leader had been fake, the British singer said that he still wanted to meet with Putin and discuss LGBT rights.
