The South Korean Embassy says that the Week of Korean Culture festival, to be held in Moscow on October 25-28, is aimed at deepening ties between the two countries.

MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – The Week of Korean Culture festival, to be held in Moscow on October 25-28, is aimed at deepening ties between the two countries, the South Korean Embassy told Sputnik.

The week long event is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Seoul, and it is hoped that it will acquaint Muscovites with the festival of Chuseok, or Korean Thanksgiving Day.

South Korea, Russia Agree to Hold Joint Consultations on Regional Peace
Chuseok is one of the biggest and most important holidays in Korea. During the festival, the Moscow audience will be treated to South Korean movies, dance performances, Taekwondo fights and the sounds of traditional Korean music.

Relations between Russia and South Korea are on the rise. During the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in the Russian city of Vladivostok, Seoul stated that it is ready to cooperate with Moscow on Far East development.

On Monday, top security officials from Russia and South Korea reached an agreement to hold bilateral talks aimed at establishing and maintaining regional peace and stability.
