The 21st Russian Fashion week gains momentum in Moscow with a flamboyant shows from Russian and foreign fashion designers and a special exhibition by fashion photographer Dylan Don.
Don's In Their Shoes exhibition features snaps of shoes worn by celebrities, royalty and even strippers.
"I believe that shoes tell a little bit about a person's character, in a way, so I was experimenting with that," Don said at the opening of his exhibition in Moscow.
The fashion guru promised that the owners of the footwear would be revealed in due course, leaving spectators with a challenging guessing game.
The photographer works on the principle that fashion defines the personality. Unlike physical features, our clothes reveal our tastes and some of the choices we have made in life.
"We have beautiful friends who wear fabulous shoes and we capture them in the moment being themselves," Don and his partner Kate Bellm said when the exhibition was on display in Paris last year. "All good photography tells the story of a moment and all shoes tell the story of the people wearing them, where they've been and where they want to go."
The fashion week, which being held in Moscow's World Trade Center until October 21, officially kicked off on Saturday with a display of the designs of Russian fashion maitre Slava Zaitsev.
