MOSCOW (Sputnik), Anastasia Levchenko – NATO's decision-making body, the North Atlantic Council (NAC), will hold an extraordinary meeting with Turkey over the downing of a Russian bomber jet, NATO’s deputy spokesman told Sputnik on Tuesday.
"At the request of Turkey, the North Atlantic Council will hold an extraordinary meeting at 17.00 Brussels time [16:00 GMT]," Carmen Romero said.
Romero said the alliance was monitoring the situation surrounding Turkey downing Russia’s Su-24 "closely" and was "in close contact" with Turkish authorities,
"The aim of this extraordinary NAC meeting is for Turkey to inform Allies about the downing of a Russian airplane," she added.
