Russia’s Constitutional Court will have to rule whether it is legal to strip opposition deputy Gennady Gudkov of his parliamentary mandate for his involvement in business activities without a court ruling. Meanwhile, a State Duma commission will address similar cases of six ruling United Russia party members.

Russian strategic joint-stock companies and their subsidiaries may not fulfill the demands of foreign countries’ authorities, according to a new decree signed by President Vladimir Putin. The decree is designed to protect Russia’s interests, including in the current dispute between energy giant Gazprom and the EU, but may increase risks for other strategic companies.
