RIA Novosti’s infographic on Culture in Moscow 2012-2016 has made it onto the Data Visualization shortlist in the first ever Information Is Beautiful Awards, an annual international competition for data visualization and information design.
RIA Novosti has become the first news agency to have its work selected for this prize.
A jury of six experts in modern design and visualization of information and infographics shortlisted almost 100 entries for the prize’s six nominations.
"We’ve been massively impressed by the number and standard of entries to the first Information Is Beautiful Awards. Very talented people from around the world have submitted entries so to make the shortlist is a fantastic achievement," said juror David McCandless.
The static infographics made by the RIA Novosti Design Studio presented a detailed description of how the Culture in Moscow 2012-2016 strategic program is financed. The program is targeted at strengthening and expanding the Moscow cultural potential and making the city one of the largest cultural world centers.
In late September, the winners of gold, silver, bronze and special prizes will be named in all categories and awards will be presented at the official ceremony in London.
