MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The UN-backed government said the presence of French special forces was "in excess of international norms and a totally unacceptable interference with a sovereign state," according to the GNA statement on Facebook.
GNA chairman Fayez Seraj called for mutual respect and non-interference in Libya’s internal affairs and Libya had "demanded a formal explanation from the French government on what really happened."
Paris confirmed last week that three of its special operations personnel died while on a mission last week after their helicopter was downed in eastern Libya.
