Terrorist-Related Groups May Plan Attacks on Nigeria Hotels - US Embassy

US diplomats in Nigeria have received data indicating that terrorist groups may be plotting attacks on the country’s hotels frequented by Western visitors, the US embassy in Nigeria warned in a security message published on its website on Friday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US embassy said that terrorist-related groups may be planning to attack Nigerian hotels visited by foreigners.

“The US Mission in Nigeria has received information that groups associated with terrorism may be planning to mount attacks against hotels in Nigeria that are frequented by westerners,” the embassy said.

The embassy added that it maintained close contact with the Nigerian security services. The US mission also urged all Americans in Nigeria to stay vigilant and take necessary steps to enhance personal safety.
