ISIL Claims Responsibility for Cairo Blast
MOSCOW (Sputnik) The late night blast near the state security and courthouse buildings in Cairo's Shubra district injured 30 people, including eight police officers.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry affirms its recommendation to Russian tourists arriving in Egypt to not leave resort areas and avoid visiting territories where the threat of terrorist and criminal activity is heightened," the ministry said.

Egyptian authorities have blockaded major roads and highways in a manhunt for the assailant, who is thought to have left the vehicle rigged with one ton of explosives near a checkpoint outside the security and courthouse buildings.

The Islamic State extremist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
