London advises UK nationals in Tunisia to avoid vicinity of Algeria and Libya that have seen much fanatical violence.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The British Foreign Office updated its travel advice for Tunisia early Sunday to warn of possible terror attacks on foreigners inspired by terrorist groups.

"Further terrorist attacks in Tunisia, including in tourist resorts, are possible, including by individuals who are unknown to the authorities and whose actions are inspired by terrorist groups via social media," the UK ministry said on its website.

It also advised UK nationals travelling to Tunisia to avoid vicinity of adjacent Algeria and Libya, countries that have recently seen much Islamist-related violence.

The warning was issued following a deadly attack on tourists in the northeastern Tunisian resort town of Sousse, which killed 40 people. The gunman shot at holidaymakers at the beach before targeting a coastline hotel. He was killed at the site by police.

At least 15 Britons were among those killed, according to UK authorities, who fear that number can rise as victims are being identified.

The Islamist State claimed responsibility for the massacre. It is known to recruit young fighters from across the globe using social media.
