American actor Kevin Spacey is being investigated by the Metropolitan police in relation to a second allegation of sexual assault that reportedly occurred against a man in the suburb of Lambeth in the British capital London in 2005.
Police refused to name the suspect in the case which they stated was the same individual accused in relation to a separate assault alleged to have taken place in 2008 in the same area.
"Officers from the child abuse and sexual offenses command are investigating," Metropolitan Police confirmed to The Guardian.
The scandal surrounding the actor began after claims were made by actor Anthony Rapp on October 30 that Mr. Spacey had attempted to assault him when he was 14 years old in 1986.
On November 16, The Old Vic theater disclosed details of historic allegations of inappropriate behavior made by 20 men against Mr. Spacey in relation to his tenure as artistic director there.
Mr. Spacey has since had his highly successful role in the US TV show House of Cards terminated by Netflix.
