Putin is expected to hold a meeting with Erdogan while on a visit to Turkey on October 10. The Russian leader will also speak at the World Energy Congress in Istanbul.
"This meeting is particularly significant taking into account the current complex situation in the region and the world. Improving relations between Russia and Turkey are of strategic importance," Suleyman Sensoy said, adding that they have a positive impact on the Middle East.
The five-and-a-half-year conflict in Syria will most likely be one of the key topics on the agenda.
Suleyman Sensoy added that Russia, Turkey and Iran are "key players," who are capable of playing the decisive role in bringing peace to Syria. He also said that the West has tried to prevent this from happening.
"The West needs to be convinced that the pans that it is trying to implement in the Middle East have no chance of succeeding," he said. "Western countries are trying to keep Syria in a state of controlled chaos. Only Moscow, Ankara and Tehran can prevent the West from implementing its plans."
