MOSCOW (Sputnik) — London aims to maintain the closest possible economic relations with Paris after Britain's decision to leave the European Union, British Prime Minister Theresa May said after talks with French leader Francois Hollande in Paris on Thursday.
"As the UK leaves the EU, we would have to determine how to maintain the closest possible economic relations between our countries," May said.
Paris wants the unique border agreement between the United Kingdom and France to stay in place despite Brexit,according to Theresa May.
"President Hollande and Interior Minister [Bernard] Cazeneuve have both been very clear from their point of view that they want this agreement to stay… and I want this agreement to stay," May said.
