Ankara Blames PKK Militants for Istanbul Attack Which Killed 11
MOSCOW (Sputnik) On Tuesday, a suicide attack occurred in Istanbul near a police vehicle. According to Ankara's official data, the attack killed 11 people, including six police officers, and wounded 36 others.

"At 07th June 2016, twenty to nine [05:40 GMT], we hit the fascist Turkish Special Forces’ convoy. Our Rojhat-Munzur vindicative unit realized this attack in memory of Martry Asya for our people who murdered in Nusaybin," TAK said in a statement.

TAK is believed to be a breakaway faction of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), outlawed in Ankara. The group does not want to seek compromise with Ankara, and opposes to what they deem a "fascist rule" of the current Turkish government.

The TAK militants claimed responsibility for the February attack in Ankara that killed 28 people and wounded 61.
