MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Creation of the Single Digital Market in Europe involves tearing down countries' regulatory borders to make the process of buying and selling goods easier.
Supporters of the initiative argue that it could contribute billions of euro to the economy and create new jobs, while whose against fear that the introduction of the Single Digital Market will create threats to European countries' sovereignty.
"Russia is a sovereign country which has its strategy of sovereignty which [has] committed itself to controlling and keeping mastery over its fundamental technology in terms of how it actually organizes its society and its industry. We do not have that kind of ambition. That's what I think is a shame for Europe."
