19:06 GMT 13.05.2016 (Updated: 09:34 GMT 14.05.2016) The 66th Congress of FIFA voted on Friday to accept Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) and the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) as FIFA's 210th and 211th members.
MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) — The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Congress voted to accept the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) as its 210th member on Friday.
The vote at the 66th FIFA Congress with new President Gianni Infantino at the helm allows the Kosovar national team to compete for a spot in the 2018 World Cup held in Russia.
The congress voted by a 141-23 margin to accept FFK.
Gibraltar received 172 votes in favor out of a total of 205 ballots, and will be able to take part in the qualifying round of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
