The Tuesday's terrorist attacks in Brussels should be attributed to the failure of the Western anti-terrorism policies, including in Syria, the head of the Syrian government's delegation to the proximity talks in Geneva said Wednesday.

GENEVA (Sputnik) — On Tuesday, at least 31 people were killed and some 260 injured in two bomb blasts in Brussels' Zaventem airport and an explosion in the city's subway. Daesh, which is outlawed in many countries, including Russia and the United States, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

"Terrorist attacks that took place in Brussels are the example of wrong policies that are taken vis-a-vis terrorism…. We condemn in strongest terms these attacks. These explosions reaffirm that terrorism knows no boundaries," Bashar Jaafari told reporters after meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.

At least 34 people died and 260 have been injured in multiple terrorist attacks across Brussels.
