Kerry: US State Department Recognizes Daesh Atrocities Genocide
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier on Thursday, Kerry issued a declaration that Daesh had committed genocide against Christians, Yazidis and Shia Muslims in the areas the terror group controls.

It was unclear how, or whether, the finding would affect US efforts to destroy Daesh.

"Secretary Kerry is finally making the right call," Royce stated. "Christian and Yezidi communities are deliberately targeted for elimination in ISIS’s [Daesh] self-declared caliphate."

In the statement, Royce also criticized the Obama administration’s efforts against the terror group, saying that past actions reflect a pattern of paralysis and ineffectiveness.
