"The divisions taking part in the exercises covered over 300 kilometers in 24 hours on special and combat equipment. At the moment the divisions, arriving at the polygon, have begun actions to fortify their positions, disguise, prepare their weapons and military equipment to the mobile defense," the statement said.
The troops also practiced repelling the attacks of simulated enemy during the drills.
As many as 2,500 servicemen and 300 units of equipment took part in the exercises, according to the statement.
Last week, the paratroopers in the Pskov Region used Barnaul-T automated air defense control system for the first time during drills.
The Barnaul-T automated air defense control system was developed to search for air targets, receive information from other systems of detection, as well as plotting targets' trajectories.
