GENEVA (Sputnik) — Syria's Riyadh-formed opposition will meet with UN Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura on Sunday, but will not go to the United Nations building until their demands are met, the delegation spokesperson Monzer Makhous said Sunday.
"Yes, there should be a meeting with hem, but not at the United Nations… [de Mistura] has to create preconditions for the beginning of the political process. He must do something because he is a special envoy," Makhous told reports.
The head of the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) will arrive in Geneva soon to join the Riyadh-formed Syrian opposition delegation, HNC spokesman Monzer Makhous told Sputnik on Sunday.
"Yes, but not tonight, he will arrive very soon. It is a logistical question, he should have been here with us but had personal issues," the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, another spokesman for the opposition delegation Riyadh Naasan Agha told journalists that Hijab would arrive in Geneva on Sunday or Monday from Qatar.
