MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has informed the Railway Board of an email threatening a bomb aboard New Delhi trains bound for Kanpur, according the Zee News broadcaster.
The ATS has ordered the evacuation of a number of Delhi-Kanpur trains.
The e-mail reportedly warned that a bomb on board one of the Lucknow Swarna Shatabdi Express trains would detonate within 72 hours.
The Indian capital and neighbouring states are on high alert after an early Saturday attack at an Indian air base in northern Punjab that killed three servicemen and wounded four. Four of the gunmen were killed in the Pathankot Air Base attack.
