Dutch Supreme Court Rejects Russian Oil Company Appeal in Yukos Case
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He added that the appeal procedure in the national courts was expected to be longer.

"Such processes are underway in 7-8 countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States," Konovalov told RIA Novosti.

Yukos, which used to be controlled by former Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, was declared bankrupt by Moscow's Court of Arbitration in 2006. State-run Rosneft subsequently purchased about 80 percent of the company's assets.

Former Yukos managers claim that Russian authorities illegally forced the company out of business in order to obtain its assets. In July 2014, a court in the Hague order Russia to pay $50 billion to ex-Yukos shareholders.
