MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia plans to maintain its current status in the global energy market until 2035, taking into consideration the interests of the BRICS partners, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Friday.
“The project of Russia’s energy strategy until 2035 forecasts the growth of all major indexes of energy resources production and maintenance of Russia’s role and place at the world’s energy markets. At the same time, we respect interests of all participants of our association [BRICS]," Novak said at a meeting of BRICS Energy Ministers in Moscow.
Moscow hosts a meeting of BRICS Energy Ministers on November 19-20. The ministers are expected to discuss implementation of energy efficient technologies, energy cooperation, and global energy trends.
BRICS is an association of emerging economies, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
