HAVANA (Sputnik) — "I see clear perspectives. Russia has will and determination, the same has Cuba. We need Russia's participation in the economic development of Cuba," Cabrisas said at the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2015).
On November 2, Cabrisas met with Russian Industry and Trade deputy minister Georgy Kalamanov and Russian First Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexei Likhachev on the sidelines of the Havana International Trade Fair, an important commercial fair in Cuba and the Caribbean.
FIHAV is the largest international trade fair, that annually takes place in Havana in the beginning of November. Over 1,000 companies from more than 46 countries attend the fair.
Cuba and Russia have enjoyed warm relations, dating back to Soviet times. Moscow and Havana currently cooperate closely in energy and civil aviation, and are also working on a program to modernize Cuba's power plants.
