The voting in Switzerland on the composition of the new parliament closed on Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Swiss citizens were electing members of their bicameral legislature, the Federal Assembly, for a four-year term.

The preliminary results of the legislative elections are expected to be announced by 7 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT) in Bern.

The main rivals in the elections are the ruling right-wing Swiss People's Party (SVP), the Social Democratic Party (SP), Free Democratic Party, the Liberal Party and the Christian Democratic People's Party.
