MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Erdogan arrived in Russia earlier in the day to attend the opening of a mosque in central Moscow, thought to be one of the largest in Europe.
"The sides continue to have differences in views [on the Syrian conflict], but there is no doubt that they share concerns over the situation, which, unfortunately, has a tendency for deterioration," Peskov told reporters in Moscow.
Speaking about the progress in talks on the proposed Turkish Stream gas pipeline, Peskov said that the work on the project continued.
"The work goes on, and the sides share mutual understanding," he stressed.
The Turkish Stream is a proposed gas pipeline with an annual capacity of 63 billion cubic meters, running from Russia to Turkey beneath the Black Sea. The pipeline is expected to continue to a hub on the Turkish-Greek border, from where it could be extended to southern Europe.
