MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The attack on the Erawan Shrine, a Hindu site in the Thai capital, claimed the lives of at least 20 people and left many more injured.
Thai authorities said the explosion was the result of a terrorist attack targeting the country’s tourism industry.
It was previously reported by local media that police was investigating one suspect seen on security footage from the shrine. The footage was released to the public on Tuesday.
According to Al Jazeera, Thai police say the main suspect is a young man in a yellow T-shirt seen entering the shrine with a backpack and then leaving without it.
On Tuesday, a small explosive was tossed from a bridge in Bangkok over the Chao Phraya River, causing no injuries. Police said the incident might be linked to the Monday attack, according to the broadcaster.
No terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for either of the attacks yet.
