MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian energy company Gazprom supplied European countries and Turkey with 14.3 billion cubic meters of gas in July, the largest amount in the past 18 months, the company’s press service said in a statement Monday.
“This amount is the maximum for July in the history of supplies and is the highest monthly rate in the past 1,5 years,” the statement reads.
Gazprom noted that the July 2015 export rate of gas can be compared with peak supply rates of autumn and winter months.
The Western European market together with Turkey consumes the bulk of Russian export of natural gas. In 2014, Gazprom delivered 117.9 billion cubic meters of gas to markets in the region.
