The main Kremlin’s Spassky Gate to Red Square will reportedly open on Saturday, May 16, giving tourists possibility to directly get to Red Square after taking a look around the Kremlin.
Special signs in Russian and English will be installed to help visitors find their way out.
Previously, visitors could only exit the Kremlin via Kutafya Tower and, due to restoration works, had a long walk to get back to Red Square.
The restoration of the Spasskaya Tower started last autumn. Its ruby star has been completely renovated for the first time since 1946, while red brick walls and white stone decorative elements have undergone a conservation process.
The entrance to the Kremlin will be open for visitors from May 15 to September 30 from 9:30 to 18:00, except Thursdays.
