WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Two women died after a tornado rampaged through the town of Fairdale, Illinois in the US Midwest, according to local media.
“The DeKalb County coroner’s office has identified a second person found dead in the northern Illinois community of Fairdale after tornadoes struck the region,” WXOW Channel 19 in La Crosse, Wisconsin reported on Friday. “Officials earlier identified the first victim as 67-year-old Geraldine M. Schultz.”

According to local reports, the second woman, 69-year-old Jacklyn Klosa, was discovered during a secondary search after officials discovered Schultz.
A dozen people were injured when the tornado began its descent into Fairdale on Thursday, local reports said.

At least two tornadoes tore through six northcentral Illinois counties, according to the US National Weather Service.
About 20 homes were destroyed in Fairdale, while an additional 20 homes decimated in Ogle County, Illinois local media reported.
Fairdale is a small farming community in DeKalb County, Illinois, 80 miles northwest from Chicago.
