MOSCOW, January 9 (Sputnik) – US Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will meet in Geneva on January 14 prior to the official start of the P5+1 talks on Iran's nuclear future, the ISNA news agency reported Friday.
Zarif and Kerry are due to meet in Geneva on January 14 to instruct their deputies before the negotiations, ISNA said citing Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

On Wednesday, the European Union confirmed that the next round of nuclear talks between Iran and P5+1 group, held at the level of political directors, is due to take place in Geneva on January 18.
The P5+1 group, which includes Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany, has conducted several rounds of talks with Iran to ensure the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program. In 2013, the sides reached an interim deal on the nuclear issue, but progress stalled when participants failed to meet a self-imposed deadline during the latest round of talks in Vienna.
The deadline for reaching a comprehensive long-term agreement on Iran has been extended to July 1, 2015.
