No Increase in Russian Military Flights off Norway's Coast: Norwegian Army
MOSCOW, December 12 (Sputnik) — Norway has decided to suspend military cooperation with Russia till the end of next year, the country’s Ministry of Defense said Friday.

“The Government has considered the issue again and decided to continue the suspension of all bilateral military activities until the end of 2015,” the ministry said in a statement published on its official website.

According to Norwegian Defense Minister Ine Eriksen Soreide, Russia continues to play a “destabilizing role” in the Ukrainian crisis.

“None of Norway's close allies have resumed military cooperation with Russia,” the ministry noted. The Scandinavian country will still collaborate with Russia in a number of areas, such as search and rescue and coast- and border guard activities.

Norway, alongside NATO, suspended all military cooperation with Moscow following Crimea’s reunification with Russia in March. The alliance has since been blaming Russia of interfering in the conflict in Ukraine's southeast by sending troops and military equipment.

Moscow has repeatedly denied any involvement in Ukraine's internal affairs and urged the conflicting sides to engage in dialogue in order to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
