Thousands of people rallied late on Monday in cities including Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., the Daily Mail reported on Tuesday morning.
Three bridges were shut down in New York City as protesters walked down traffic lanes, according to the paper. Demonstrators in Oakland, California blocked a major highway and other major cities across the United States saw hundreds of citizens wielding signs and shouting slogans at police.
Protests erupted in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson after a grand jury chose not to press charges against white police officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot unarmed African-American teenager Michael Brown in August.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon ordered additional National Guardsmen in light of the latest wave of protests, and the Federal Aviation Administration declared the airspace over Ferguson a no-fly zone, according to reports citing authorities.
