WASHINGTON, November 18 (Sputnik) - US House of Representatives has reelected Nancy Pelosi to serve as the Minority Leader for 2015-2016, according to the congresswoman’s Twitter post published on Tuesday.
“I'm honored that my colleagues have entrusted me with the privilege of once again serving as Leader of our distinguished Democratic Caucus,” Pelosi wrote.

US House of Representatives majority and minority party members meet separately to elect their leaders. House Democrats who remained the minority party after November 4 congressional elections met privately on Tuesday morning to take a vote on their next leader.
Pelosi, who represents the state of California in the US Congress, served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2007 till 2011, becoming the first female speaker in US history. She has occupied senior positions in the House leadership since 2002 and currently serves as the Democratic Leader of the US House of Representatives for the 113th Congress.
Pelosi is focused on “strengthening the middle class through job creation, reforming the political system, enacting comprehensive immigration reform and empowering America’s women and families”, according to the congresswoman’s website.
Last Thursday, US House Republicans reelected Kevin McCarthy as their Majority Leader, John Boehner was reelected as the Speaker of the House.
