MOSCOW, November 18 (Sputnik) - A boy in a cape has been chosen as the official mascot of the 2016 UEFA European Championship in France, according to the tournament’s official Twitter page.

The symbol – a boy in a red cape wearing a t-shirt of the French national football team – will be officially presented Tuesday in Marseille, during a friendly match between France and Sweden.
After the presentation a contest will be held to establish the mascot’s name. It will run through November 26, and organizers will launch the symbol on social networks November 30.
The 2016 European Championship will take place in France between June 10 and July 10. For the first time ever, 24 national teams will be competing at the final stage of the tournament.
