US State Department has said in a press release that US Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation to travel to Moscow for talks.

WASHINGTON, November 15 (Sputnik) – US Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation Adam Scheinman will travel to Moscow for talks next week, the US State Department has said in a press release.

"Special Representative of the President for Nuclear Nonproliferation, Ambassador Adam Scheinman, will travel to Moscow, Russia for consultations in preparation for the 2015 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty [NPT] Review Conference," the press release, issued Friday, said.

Scheinman will take part in a panel discussion "at a conference held by a non-governmental organization," according to the press release.

On Thursday, the US State Department announced that US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Rose Gottemoeller will also visit Moscow next week to participate in the 2014 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference.

The conference is expected to bring together about 150 experts from 30 countries, including China, Brazil, North Korea, Egypt, Germany, India, Iran, Israel, Pakistan, and the United States, according to the organizers" website.

The Moscow conference will precede the 2015 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons that will be held in New York and will mark the 20th anniversary of NPT's indefinite extension.
