SHANGHAI, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - There is no reason to consider the collision of two trains in Moscow region as a terrorist attack, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday.
“We do not have for now any basis to consider that the catastrophe in Moscow Region is the result of a terrorist attack, a detailed investigation into this incident must be conducted, only then we can make conclusions,” Putin said.
Two trains collided in the Moscow region on Tuesday. The accident happened at the railroad line between Naro-Fominsk and Bekasovo, when a freight train derailed and collided into a long-distance passenger train going from Moscow to Chisinau.
At least six people were killed and over 50 injured.
The Moscow Transport Department earlier told a regional web portal that a broken rail was the alleged cause of the collision.
